During the last few days, I traveled to New Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, and Mumbai to better understand how Malta can act as a gateway for Indian businesses to expand into Europe and Africa.
Malta can continue positioning itself as a significant gateway for Indian enterprises looking to expand in Europe, Africa, and the Arab World.
With Malta being the fastest-growing economy in the Eurozone, having a competitive fiscal regime and a skilled workforce, coupled with the fact that Malta and India share so much in common as Commonwealth members, business collaborations between the two can be expected to strengthen.

Likewise, Maltese companies are also invited to consider investing in the Indian economy. The Indian Economic Trade Organisation, together with Invest India, promotes FDI in India. They guide, help, and facilitate market entry in a structured and efficient manner.
I had the pleasure of attending Malta’s Independence Day celebrations in Mumbai on the invitation of H.E Reuben Gauci.
This was definitely not my last visit to India, and I shall return for more meetings towards the end of October.
